Tout a commencé avec un voyage alternatif au Népal en septembre 2001. L'agence « Contact J » de Bruxelles propose des voyages solidaires, des chantiers et des formations, bref des voyages pas comme les autres où l'aventure interculturelle et l'entraide sont au rendez-vous. C'est via cet organisme que Michaël Flock, Christophe Pels et Yannick Delabie se sont envolés pour Katmandou et l'Annapurna où ils ont fait la rencontre de Jayandra, un Népalais plein de rêves et d'envie d'aider les enfants en difficultés. C'est suite à cette amitié naissante que le projet de l'association a germé dans nos têtes. Depuis 2002, nous menons donc au Népal des actions dans le domaine de l’éducation, de la santé et du développement. 

Pour mener à bien certains projets, l'ONG népalaise « Solidarity To Nepali people » a été créée en 2015. Celle-ci nous permet d’être reconnus officiellement par le gouvernement népalais et d'effectuer toutes les démarches administratives sur place. STNP compte, en son sein, sept personnes de nationalité népalaise.
